College Resources for Students with Disabilities
There are many resources and programs to support students with disabilities as they navigate college choices. Every student is unique, so it’s essential to find options that best meet your student’s individual needs. It's important to understand that services and accommodations received in high school are not automatically granted in college. Most colleges offer student services programs with a range of accommodations, and some provide specialized programs to enhance the college experience.
Community-Based Transition Services
Tacoma Public Schools’ Community-Based Transition (CBT) is an option after the comprehensive high school experience that provides transition services for students/young adults receiving special education services between the ages of 18-22 years old.
